More on National Escargot Day


Bistrot La Minette isn’t the only area restaurant getting in on the National Escargot Day fun. On Wednesday, May 23rd Southwark will be joined by Doug “the Snailman” Dussault of Potironne Company. Doug will be on hand to talk snails while Southwark’s kitchen serves up four courses (including dessert) of snail inspired dishes. Dinner is $45 per person, $65 with wine or beer pairing. The menu will also be available on Thursday the 24th.

fried garlic and snail sausage cured egg yolk, parsley salad

3rd course
mutton and snail lasagna gruyere, wilted greens

4th course

Cocktail: Blue Coat Gin & Pernot with a Pickled Snail Garnish ($12)

Antipasti: Snail & Pork Jowl Spiedini with Porcini Mostarda ($12)

Pasta: Spring Garlic Ravioli with Snail Brown Butter ($18)

Main: Beef al Mattone with Snails & Salsa Verde ($24)

Amis, Southwark and Bistrot La Minette are hardly the only restaurants celebrating snails next week. Look for specials at Beau Monde, Fond, Lacroix and of course Bibou.
