It’s the end of an era as bartender George Costa will be moving on from Southwark. Join him for one last drink at one of Philadelphia’s nicest looking bars. After Saturday you’ll be able to find Costa at Pub & Kitchen four nights a week. The parting is amicable, Costa is looking to spending more time with his family.
As we noted elsewhere on the site, the Popped Festival’s Food Bazaar will be happening between 3 and 9 p.m. at the Piazza.
Brauhaus Schmitz shuts down a block of South Street for its Oktoberfest. Don’t worry, two big tents will protect everyone from the rain.
It’s the premiere of the second season of Boardwalk Empire and Johnny Goodtimes is hosting a special 1920s quizzo and Jazz Age night at National Mechanics. The quizzo will feature $350(2011 dollars) in prizes and jazz band, Blackbird Society Orchestra. Quizzo will start at 6:30 and the fun will go all night.
