The Eagles travel up I-95 North to take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in the first of two meetings between the teams. The Eagles look to go 5-3 on the season and stay in the hunt for the NFC East crown. We’ll periodically update this thread throughout the game with highlights and drive summaries. Feel free to jump in the comments below.

4:21 – TURNOVER ON DOWNS: Jordan Matthews cannot make the catch in the endzone on a fade. Looked over the wrong shoulder. The Giants will win the game, 28-23. The Eagles fall to 4-4 on the season.

4:19 – Eagles take their final timeout with 1:28 left in the game. Fourth and 10 from the Giants’ 17.

4:02 – The Eagles convert on fourth down. Jordan Matthews gets a big catch at the New York 21.

3:58 – The Eagles’ defense forces a big three-and-out and will take over at the New York 47 yard line after a bad punt.

3:56 – Jason Peters has a thumb injury, but will return.

3:53 – Eagles go three-and-out on a crucial drive. But Donnie Jones’ punt is downed at the four yard line.

3:49 – The interception stands. Eagles ball at their own 40 yard line.

3:47 – INTERCEPTION: Nolan Carroll strips the ball out of Odell Beckham’s hands, big play for the defense. Currently under review.

3:41 – FIELD GOAL: Sturgis makes a 26-yard try and the Eagles trail the Giants, 28-20, with 12:01 to go in the game.

3:36 – END OF THE THIRD QUARTER: The Eagles trail the Giants, 28-17. Eagles are in Giants territory looking for a touchdown in a very important drive.

3:25 – Eagles are challenging the ruling on the field of an incomplete pass as a catch and fumble. The call stands as an incomplete pass.

3:14 – Safety Terrence Brooks is doubtful to return with a hamstring injury.

3:12 – TOUCHDOWN: Sterling Shepard scores for a 32-yard score. Malcolm Jenkins was covering him, but was beat. Giants lead, 28-17, with 7:41 left in the third.

3:01 – TOUCHDOWN: Kenjon Barner runs the ball in from four yards out after a great opening drive by the offense. Sturgis makes the extra point, as the Eagles cut the Giants lead to 21-17 with 12:17 left in the third quarter.

2:55 – The second half is underway, with the Eagles receiving the ball. Zach Ertz limps off the field.

2:41 – Cruz and Pugh are done for the day.

2:35 – Sturgis’ field goal attempt from 40 yards is blocked and recovered by the Giants near midfield.

2:26 – Victor Cruz is now questionable to return:

2:18 – Victor Cruz is probable to return with a sprained ankle.

2:10 – TOUCHDOWN: Manning finds Beckham for his second touchdown of the day. Easily beats McKelvin, who hasn’t had a good game today. Was also beat on a deep pass by Victor Cruz earlier in the drive. Giants lead, 21-10, with 9:28 left in the half.

2:03 – Rodney McLeod looks like he had an interception off of Manning, but the turnover was overturned. Jalen Mills was hurt on that play as well.

1:59 – Video of the Treggs catch and Mathews score:

1:56 – TOUCHDOWN: Ryan Mathews runs it in from the left side of the field for an eight-yard score. Giants looking for a hold on Burton, but no call. Big play by Bryce Treggs deep for 58 yards set up the score. Eagles trail, 14-10, with 12:11 left in the first half.

1:52 – Eagles’ defense is starting to get in the swing of things with another three-and-out. Cornerbacks are also rotating.

1:50 – Giants offensive lineman Justin Pugh is down on the field, but walks off on his own power. Could be a big loss if he doesn’t return.

1:47 – Eagles try to go for it on fourth-and-two with a Wentz run, but get stuffed for a big loss. First failed fourth down conversion this year.

1:45 – END OF THE FIRST QUARTER: The Giants lead the Eagles, 14-3. Eagles are currently inside Giants territory on fourth down. An interesting stat from Reuben Frank:
