Another month, another insanely fun BWP Underground event. For our December pop-up workout, we headed to Best-of-Philly-winning BPM Fitness, which just celebrated its one-year anniversary on the wellness scene here in Philly.

What’s BWP Underground? So glad you asked. BWP Underground is our monthly, super-secret event series. A few days before the event, we send out a sign-up link to all our members, and it’s first-come, first-serve for anyone who wants to participate. Plus, the events are always totally free! You can add your name to the email list here.

But back to last night. We hit up BPM Fitness for their signature Circuit Breaker workout, which starts with 30-minutes of intense work in the spin room, followed by 30 minutes of strength training. BPM Fitness’ fearless leader Shoshana Katz led the workout, and to say she kicked our butts would be an understatement. (I swear she makes that 30 minutes of spin feel harder than any hour-long class I’ve taken; Katz swears it’s not intentional.)

For the strength portion of class, we hit up the gym’s second studio, where battle ropes, slam balls, dumbbells, TRX straps, and sandbags awaited us. The class was divided into four groups, who each took three turns through their strength station (think: battle ropes followed by kettlebell Russian twists) before moving on to the next stop.

By the end, I think it’s safe to say we’d gotten in one killer workout (or, two killer workouts? You do the math.). Thankfully, Trishmoves — Philly’s new vegan energy bar brand — had us covered with their Salted Dark Chocolate Cherry bars.

Want to join us at the next one? Thanks to our sponsors, Independence Blue Cross and Verizon, we can host these pop-ups every month, September through May. Catch us at the next one in January by signing up here!
