Say hello to your weekend plans! This Saturday, July 15th, Bella Vista’s Charge Performance and Wellness is welcoming everyone (yup, even you, non-member-type folks) to help celebrate the gym’s first birthday in a BIG way — with a cookout dubbed Charge-A-Palooza and, of course, a workout.

Charge-A-Palooza will kick off with an open gym at the Charge outpost at 928 Christian Street from 10 a.m. to noon. Owner Charles Scogna will be floating around to put together personalized workouts for whoever is interested. There will also be a mile-run challenge going on the gym’s Trueform treadmill, which is one of those crazy-hard treadmills propelled by just your legs instead of a motor. (Insert dead-eyed emoji here).

So that’s what’s happening in the morning, then the cookout portion of the event will run from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Piazza in the Italian Market (9th and Montrose Streets). Here, you’ll find healthy cookout-style food, drinks and local brews. Expect prizes and swag from Charge, Honeygrow and Philadelphia Runner, too. Scogna will also be announcing some exciting additions to the Charge class line-up as well as sharing some cross-training tips for the upcoming Philly 10K. Both portions of the day are totally free and open to anyone and everyone. All you gotta do is sign up here. Keep up to date on the event on the Facebook page and look out for announcements on Instagram!
