5 Awesome Free Workouts to Have on Your Calendar This Week

We noticed there were a ton of free workouts going on around Philly this week, so we decided to round ’em up to help you plan your week of sweat sessions. Because a free workout is the best kind, are we right? Check them out below.

1. Free Fit Academy Boot Camp
When: Tuesday, March 15th at 6:30 p.m.
Where: The Art Museum Steps.

This is the first of Fit Academy’s free outdoor boot camp sessions; they happen monthly, so you can keep up with them on Facebook to stay in the loop. You will get your sweat on with an hourlong workout, then you’ll get your refuel on at a post-workout happy hour at Urban Saloon. Best of both worlds, right? You can sign up here. (Note: The rain date is Wednesday).

2. The Philly 5 Mile Course Cruise & Booze
When: Wednesday, March 16th at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Lo Spiedo, 4503 South Broad Street, South Philly.

This three- to five-mile run will give you a sneak peek of the Philly 5 Mile’s race course through the Navy Yard. The run is open to everyone, but folks who are signed up for the Philly 5 Mile get a free beer at Lo Spiedo afterward. (Yasssss.) They’ll also be doing on-site sign-ups for the race, with a surprise bonus sign-up gift included. (Who else is intrigued?) You can RSVP here.

3. The Lucky Run
When: Thursday, March 17th at 6 p.m.
Where: Philadelphia Runner, 1601 Sansom Street, Center City.

The folks from the ODDyssey Half Marathon and the Great American Brewery Runs are teaming up with Philadelphia Runner to host a free three- to five-mile run around Center City that will end with free Sly Fox beer. How’s that for some decent Thirsty Thursday plans? Oh, and don’t forget to wear green!

4. Free Outdoor Boot Camp Kick Off with CoreFitness
When: Saturday, March 19th at 9 a.m.
Where: The Art Museum Steps.

Grab a friend and head to the Art Museum to get your morning sweat on with the ladies of CoreFitness. Prepare to sweat — a lot. And go ahead and make brunch plans for afterward — you’ll certainly have earned it.

5. Free SEAL Team Physical Training Workout with Snap Kitchen
When: Saturday, March 19th at 9 a.m.
Where: 3250 Sedgley Drive, East Fairmount Park.

This weekend, Snap Kitchen is teaming up with SEAL Team PT, a group training program inspired by the Navy SEALS, for a free workout followed by free Snap Kitchen goodies. Uh, yes, please! And if the idea of a workout inspired by the Navy sounds terrifying, relax: SEAL Team PT is all about allowing people to go at their own pace. There’s no need to RSVP but you can let them know you’re coming here.
