Sorry to start your Monday morning off with such sad news, but it looks like Pennsylvania has officially been added to the list of states affected by the E. coli outbreak linked to everyone’s favorite can-almost-be-played-off-as-health-food chain, Chipotle.

According to CNN, on Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated folks on the E. coli outbreak linked to Chipotle, which began with illnesses in Washington and Oregon in October, and noted that three states — Pennsylvania, Illinois and Maryland — had been added to the list of states reporting illness. This brings the count of states affected by the outbreak up to nine. Only one illness has been reported in Pennsylvania.

All in all, 52 people have reported illness in relation to the E. coli outbreak linked with the chain, but as of now, which food is actually causing people to become ill has yet to be identified. As the CDC said on Friday, “The epidemiologic evidence available at this time suggests that a common meal item or ingredient served at Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants in several states is a likely source of this outbreak.” Insert one trillion sobbing emojis here.
