This past April, I ran in the Color Run at the Camden Waterfront with a group of my friends and it was so much fun. Definitely the easiest, messiest, “happiest 5k on the planet.” I was looking around to see when the next Color Run was coming to town and came across the Graffiti Run, coming to the Camden Waterfront on July 19th. So if you’re like me, and you just can’t wait until October for the Color Run Night to come to the Philly area, you’re going to want to sign up for this run in the meantime.

Whether you walk, jog, or run, you should expect to leave the Graffiti Run looking like a work of art — a very abstract, messy work of art, that is — after jogging through “Graffiti Zones,” where you get covered with brightly colored powder. Tip: You’ll want to show up to the starting line in a white t-shirt and whatever other white clothing you can scrounge up in your closet for optimum colorful-ness. Following the 5k, there will be a celebratory party with music, dancing, something called color throws (everyone throwing colored powder at once), and  — if you’re still not quite colorful enough — color cannons that blast you with color. Pretty hardcore, huh?

The race will be held at the Camden Waterfront at the intersection of Cooper Street and Delaware Avenue on July 19th. Runners will be sent out in 30-minute waves from 9 to 10 a.m. Tickets are currently on sale for $45 (for ages 11 and up) and $15 (for ages 10 and under), but prices are set to increase on July 3rd. You can find more information about parking, what to bring, and registration here.
