Broad Street Run 101: Training Tips for Beginners at Philadelphia Runner Tonight
Congrats! You got into the Broad Street Run! If you’ve never run the race before, you’re in for a real treat.
By now, you should be getting started on your Broad Street Run training plan, but I’m betting you also have a boatload of questions about what to expect on race day, how to prepare, what you can do to avoid injuries and more.
Lucky you: Philadelphia Runner is hosting a free pow-wow tonight to help you get oriented to all-things Broad Street. Plan to head to the Center City store at 16th and Sansom at 6 p.m. for an all-levels group run (You were planning on running tonight anyway, right?), then stick around afterwards for the Broad Street 101 Seminar, which begins at 7.
The shop’s running pros will cover the do’s and dont’s of Broad Street Run training, give you a course overview, offer advice on race-day preparation and more. And if you’ve run Broad Street before but want to improve your time, they’ll give tips on achieving a new PR at the May 3rd race.
You can come for both the run and workshop, or just the workshop if you prefer. The event is free, and no RSVP is required. More info is here.
