Free Sweat Fitness Run Club and Happy Hour Kicks Off This Week

Guys, the first day of spring is officially upon us: Thursday marks the day that we can all, at least mentally, put this awful winter behind us. It also marks the first Sweat Fitness Run Club run of the season, with trainers Orlin Howell and Josh Everetts leading free weekly runs from the South Philly gym.

Here’s how it works: Runners will meet at Sweat Fitness at 1509 East Passyunk Avenue at 6 p.m. for a three- to four-mile group run through the city. (This Thursday’s run will clock in at a breezy 3.2 miles.) You’ll want to pack light, though, because the run will end at Jet Wine Bar in Rittenhouse (1525 South Street), where runners will get some happy hour specials: $8 for a fresh juice cocktail and $5 for another speciality cocktail. Fun, right?

The run is free and open to Sweat members and nonmembers. Just for showing up, nonmembers will be given passes to try one of Howell’s classes at Sweat Fitness locations in Queen Village, Old City and Fitler Square. Follow the club’s Facebook event page for updates, announcements and the weekly running route.
