To Do: Help with Post-Sandy Cleanup on the Schuylkill Banks Tomorrow

Volunteer to clear debris from the path.

As I reported earlier this week, the Schuylkill River Trail and Schuylkill Banks made it through Hurricane Sandy relatively unscathed. But there’s still some clean-up work to do.

Tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., a team of volunteers will head out along the Schuylkill Banks to clear away the debris—sticks, twigs and a whole lotta leaves—that have been covering the path since Sandy rumbled through. You’re welcome to join. The group will meet at the Race Street entrance to the trail (map) and clean up until noon. You’re encouraged to bring your own work gloves, if you have anyway. Organizers will provide some gloves, as well as rakes, shovels and other necessary equipment. More here.
