Pound the Pavement to Fight ALS

Join Lee's Pavement Pounders for their 5K Fun Run and raise money for ALS research.

Run this local 5K to help find a cure for ALS.

Lee’s Pavement Pounders have been raising money to fight Lou Gehrig’s disease, a debilitating motor neuron disease that affects about 5 out of every 100,000 people worldwide, ever since founder Deanna Foley-Lee’s father, Rick, was diagnosed with the disease in 2009. Though Rick has since lost his life to the illness, the running group continue to raise awareness and funds for the ALS Association’s  Greater Philadelphia Chapter. Join them for the Second Annual Fight ALS 5K Fun Run on Saturday, June 11, at the Lehigh Valley Parkway in Allentown. The $30 registration fee will support research for new treatments and, hopefully, a cure. So come out to enjoy the summer weather and burn calories for a great cause!  — Kathryn Siegel

$30, June 11, 9AM, Robin Hood Bridge, Little Lehigh Park, Allentown, 484-619-2462, leespavementpounders.org/page/Event-Information.aspx.
