Pulse: Pursuits: Character: Liz Spikol Is Out There

See her this month

If you’ve read the Philadelphia Weekly over the past decade, you’ve probably seen the award-winning column “The Trouble With Spikol,” in which the 41-year-old Philly native gave new meaning to the phrase “too much information” by discussing her long-term struggles with psychosis, including electroshock therapy and stints in what they used to call the funny farm. She recently left PW and is working on a book, and on the 11th, she’ll tell you what it’s like to have such a public private life, at First Person Arts’ “Spilling Your Guts” salon at the Arts Bank.
