Up this week is Clovis who comes courtesy of the Monster Milers’ Adopt a Running Buddy program. (You can learn more about the program and check out some of their super-cute success stories here.) He is small, but no less fast, making him the perfect companion for city digs and city runs. Plus, that FACE, you guys. Learn more about him below.

Name: Clovis

Location: Foster Care with The Monster Milers’ Adopt A Running Buddy program

Breed: Terrier mix (Identifying a dog’s breed or mix by looks is less than scientific; The Monster Milers make their best guess!)

Age: 1 to 2 years

Weight: 25 pounds

Running style: Fast things can, and do, come in small packages! Jet-black Clovis, with his shiny coat, long legs and little muscles, might look more like a Pilates guy at first, but we know he’s got what it takes to pound pavement with the best of ’em! With his dedicated runner of a foster parent, Clovis is adjusting to exercising and exploring the city’s streets for what we suspect may be the first time. Running could just be the ticket to helping him enjoy himself rather than getting caught up in the distractions of his environment.

Why Clovis is awesome: Most of the dogs we see with Clovis’ looks and easygoing house manners are way bigger than he is. He’s housebroken, outgoing but easy to handle and inclined to rest quietly while you work, cook or relax at home. He may just make the perfect fit for your downtown digs.

You can find out more about adopting Clovis by contacting the Monster Milers’ foster care coordinator, Leah at adopt@themonstermilers.org. And for more awww-worthy photos, check out our previous adoptable running dogs here.

……………..

We work with The Monster Milers each and every week to profile local running dogs waiting to be adopted. The Monster Milers are a group of runners who help shelter dogs burn off  energy and get much-needed exercise by taking them on runs around the city, and they also just launched their first-of-it’s-kind Adopt a Running Buddy foster program. If you’re not in the market for a pup right now, but would still love to help out homeless dogs, you can always become a Monster Miler volunteer or foster parent. Find out more about how to get started with those processes here
