Profile

The décor at this Fairmount BYOB in the shadow of Eastern State Penitentiary is minimal modern, but the portions feel more old-style South Philly. Expect leftovers when you order the delicious but rich gnochetti – eight to an appetizer order! – before digging into plates of housemade pasta like pappardelle with l’oca (that’s duck) ragu.

We were a party of 8 last Saturday nite with one of our guests having several food allergies ( dairy, wine, vinegar ) and also Gluten Intolerant. She asked the chef to prepare the gluten free pasta on the menu with one of the other sauces offered on the menu. The original dish had cheese. The chef refused to make any changes to his dish. Our waiter, the hostess and two gentleman from our party went to speak with the chef explaining our guests food allergies. The chef did agree to make the changes but when our waiter returned to our table he informed us that the chef decided not to make any changes to his menu. Our party of 8 then left. As we were leaving thechef shouted to one of our guests " Good Riddance". Our party went to another restaurant and had a wonderful meal.Never had such a terrible experience.

Menu isn't the same as posted on web site. Out of everything by 8:00 on a Saturday night and unwilling to make any simple changes. Rude chef. Stay away!!!
