Eight adults, 11 children evacuated from burning homes.

Nineteen people were evacuated from a stretch of rowhomes burned during an early Monday blaze in Chester.

“Authorities say the fire started in a vacant home and quickly spread to three occupied houses,” CBS Philly reports: “All four homes, including the vacant house, were seriously damaged by the fire. A fifth home was damaged by smoke.”

The displaced families included eight adults and 11 children. The American Red Cross was reportedly assisting families affected by the blaze.

6ABC reported it was the second fire in a week that had started in a vacant home on the block.
