Meek Mill Lighting Up Twitter With Commentary on Baltimore Riots
Philly rapper Meek Mill is lighting up Twitter this morning with ongoing commentary on the riots in Baltimore. The unrest began following the death of Freddie Gray, who died after a spinal injury he sustained in police custody.
His comments are being retweeted by the thousands, with this one getting the most attention:
And tearing down Ya own neighborhood is not the solution. it only makes the system look down on us even more as blacks! Let's pray 4 #bmore
— Meek Mill (@MeekMill) April 28, 2015
He’s been tweeting since the wee hours of the morning, beginning with statements like these:
And I don't condone what's going on in Bmore "but" our people has been thru so much pain it's hard to control your emotions!

cameras are finally bringing to light what's been going on for years! So imagine the lies that's been told that destroyed black families!

He also included some of his personal dealings with police:
2 cops came to court and said I chased them with a gun! I was found guilty 18 and been to jail 4 times for it and still on probation at 27

They almost ruined my life! Luckily I was strong enough to overcome it but it's thousands who are not!!! I can't wait to do @cnnireport

He even took on Donald Trump after this troublesome (but none-too-surprising) tweet:
Our great African American President hasn't exactly had a positive impact on the thugs who are so happily and openly destroying Baltimore!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 28, 2015
Mill’s response:
It's clear @realdonaldtrump been racist..saying our "African American president" it's plain to see! We won't miss u when u perish!
