In an interview this morning on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, Kanye West chatted about collaborating with Wyomissing, Pennsylvania-raised pop star Taylor Swift. “She wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in,” he told Seacrest. “Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work.”

That’s cool and all, but the chat got particularly interesting when it turned to talk about his embarrassing sting on the Grammys this weekend when he came this close to storming the stage to protest Beck’s Album of the Year win. The rapper said the voices in his head told him to do it, but in the end he decided not to because he didn’t want to take away from Beck’s moment. “Beck is one of the nicest guys and one of the most respected musicians in the game. … There’s nothing that I will want to do as a fellow musician to disrespect him in any way.”

Most of the world boo’d the move, no matter what his intentions, but he revealed Miss Swift was all for it: “Taylor Swift came up to me right afterwards, literally right afterwards, and told me that I should have went on stage. This is the irony of my life.”

Bless his heart. Listen to the full interview below:
