The Lion King, now in its incredible 18th year on Broadway, will be returning to Philadelphia this May for a four-week engagement at the Academy of Music. Tickets for the epic blockbuster go on sale this Friday, February 6th—perfect timing for a Valentine’s Day gift.

The show, which features direction and costumes and puppets by master theatrical artist Julie Taymor (the first woman to ever win a Tony Award for Direction of a Musical), has a score by musical legends Elton John and Tim Rice. The musical has been seen by over 75 million people worldwide (I’m one of them: I’ve seen it three times) and has played 19 countries in every continent except Antarctica (it’s too cold for lions there, anyway).
