Yo La Tengo to Perform at FringeArts for Buckminster Fuller Documentary

Film nerds/architect nerds/music nerds/nerds, this one’s for you:

Hoboken rockers Yo La Tengo are set to hit FringeArts on April 1st, in what seems to be the product of a film student’s wet dream: Academy award-nominated director Sam Green will live-narrate the screening of his documentary The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller while Yo La Tengo plays the accompanying score. As if the deconstructed doc wasn’t  art-school objets-de-désir enough, the titular R. Buckminster Fuller is an idiosyncratic futurist who lived in Philly.

There will be performances at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the FringeArts Building on April 4th. The program is part of FringeArts’ spring season, which includes Tere O’Connor’s BLEED (March 27-29) and Philly choreographer Nichole Canuso’s Midway Avenue (May 2-4).
