Jewelry obsessives have probably had this on their calendars for months now: This weekend, Philly-based jewelry company Lagos kicks off its annual sample sale (at 441 North 5th Street), an event that brings out over 2,500 shoppers for huge deals on the cult-fave accessories.

As with every big shopping event, there can also be confusion about where to start and what to expect, especially for first-timers. So we chatted with Lagos insiders to get the scoop on how to minimize wait time and maximize your chances of scoring coveted pieces from classic collections. Read on to prepare yourself, and happy shopping.

When is the best time to go?
To avoid crowds and long waits in line, go at the end of the day. For early-bird shoppers, arrive at least two hours in advance to secure a good spot in line.
Despite what you might expect, we’re told that the Friday dates are busier than the Saturdays.
How do I check-in?
After leaving your name and email with registration,  you will be given a customer number on a wearable name tag and will be called to the shopping floor by your number. At this time (and depending on the wait until your number is called), you are free to leave the sale and find a nearby cafe for a morning or afternoon pick-me-up.
What pieces can I expect?
Elegant gold and sterling silver rings, statement necklaces, and exclusive pieces that never made it to full production. You can find this 18k Gold Torsade statement ring (now $1,500 from $2,350) and Sterling Silver & Diamond (yes, diamond) Derby ring (now $395 from $795) for 50 percent off their original retail prices. Keep an eye out for signature 6mm and 9mm Caviar bracelets, delicate pieces from the Covet collection and Moroccan-inspired Kahina necklaces.

Will they sell out early?
If you’re too busy to make it the first weekend, don’t sweat it. Lagos is restocking throughout the entire sale and won’t be short on the good stuff.

Do they accept payment alternatives to cash?
Yes! They accept all payments except for checks.

The Details: November 6, 7, 14 and 15 (Fridays, 12pm to 8pm and Saturdays, 10am to 5pm), 441 North 5th Street; more details here.
