Happy May! And what better way to kick off the month than with a sunny Friday and a bevy of weekend shopping events? I’ve rounded up some of the best events happening around town. It’s one of the most packed weekends of the spring, so plan wisely. Happy shopping, and I’ll see you out there!
South Street Spring Festival: Tomorrow, May 2nd, from 11am to 8pm, South Street celebrates its annual spring festival, with over 100 vendors, plus sales and events at its local brick-and-mortars. Also on hand: over 30 food and drink trucks, live music all day, a Kids Zone to keep the young ones occupied and enough shopping to keep you busy all day. South Street between Front and 8th.
United By Blue: The Philly lifestyle brand is clearing out its hundreds upon hundreds samples with a major warehouse sale at its Old City flagship store. (Think: $5 t-shirts, normally $36; $20 bags, normally up to $200; and $10 button-downs, normally $98.) Friday until 9pm; Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 7pm, 144 North 2nd Street, Old City.
Skirt: Now through Sunday, May 3rd, the entire store is 20 percent off. (Think: Mother’s Day presents!) 931 Lancaster Avenue, Bryn Mawr.
Shop Sixty-Five: The boutique is having a Vince trunk show at its Doylestown location today through Sunday. Go there and make a day of it in the cute Bucks County town. 11am to 6pm, 53 West State Street, Doylestown.
Malena’s Vintage Boutique: Today until 9pm, my secret source for my coolest vintage is having a sale: 25 percent off all clothing. Go there now, but leave some things for me, please. 10 West Gay Street, West Chester.
West Chester Vintage Market: Speaking of West Chester, today from 4pm to 9pm, shop this huge vintage sale (home decor, arch salvage, antiques and collectibles, vintage clothes and jewelry, and more). Plus: live jazz and food trucks. Lower level of the Chestnut Street parking garage, 14 East Chestnut Street, West Chester.
Meadowsweet Mercantile: The home and lifestyle shop, formerly located in Manayunk, celebrates its soft opening in Old City tonight. Go there for vintage, reclaimed and salvaged goods, among thoughtful gifts and smalls. 47 North 2nd Street, Old City.
Tribe Jewelry (formerly Adorn): As the Fishtown boutique prepares to close its brick-and-mortar location, it’s kicking off a clearance sale today. Now through May 7th, get 10 percent off purchases in-store. Go tonight for wine and cheese while you shop.
