The Major Main Line Clothing Donation Drive You Need to Check Out

Plus, how to get 20 percent off at the best Main Line shops.

How to emulate those always immaculately dressed street-style stars? Start by paring down your closet. Eliminate all the stuff you no longer like/doesn’t fit, pack ’em all into plastic trash bags, and then donate, donate, donate. Here’s how: Starting tomorrow and continuing through Saturday, May 17th, drop off two or more bags of gently used clothing to benefit Our Closet, an organization that provides free clothing to those in need. In exchange, you’ll score a 20-percent discount at Main Line retailers like Barbara Ellick and Ella’s Grove.

The details: From May 15th to May 17th, between 9am and 1pm, bring two or more bags of unused clothing donations to the U-Haul truck parked behind Home Grown at 393 West Lancaster Avenue in Haverford. Clothing should be bagged in plastic trash bags, sorted by gender and season (women’s winter, men’s summer, teen girl summer, boys 0-5 years old summer) and labeled. All donations will benefit Our Closet.

In exchange for your donation, you’ll receive a one-time 20-percent discount to Main Line shops including Barbara Ellick, Children’s Book World, Ella’s Grove, Home Grown, Hope Chest, Knit Wit, Sheridan Square and Patricia Adams. Discount cards will be redeemable from May 15th to May 25th. Now, go forth and purge your closets.
