Just Listed: Contemporary Condo in New Hope
This stylish bi-level loft gives you an opportunity to live the New Hope lifestyle at a price you can afford.
New Hope, as I’m sure everyone knows, is someplace special. And nobody knows this better than its residents. Gay, lesbian, bi, straight, whatever, they know how to party like there’s no tomorrow and celebrate life’s events at the drop of a hat. (This statement is only a slight exaggeration.)
The price of houses in New Hope and environs suggests that lots of people find this approach to life very appealing. Or maybe it’s just the beauty of the town and the surrounding Bucks County countryside that they want.
In any case, those prices probably give many would-be New Hope residents pause. Today’s listing shouldn’t.
This condo for sale is located on the top two floors of a row of townhouses in the Village 2 development near New Hope Borough’s southern end. This makes it an ideal choice for someone who wants to be close to all the action in New Hope — it’s a quick walk to the center of town from here — but doesn’t have a lot of money to spend.
It has that ’70s look and feel both inside and out, but it doesn’t look dated. Its open beamed ceiling, in fact, gives it an extra helping of loft-condo chic.
Another thing that helps in this department: one of its two bedrooms is actually a sleeping loft overlooking the living room. Because it lies beneath that roof, it feels extra spacious, but whoever sleeps there will have to deal with two downsides: guests using its bathroom (there isn’t one on the main floor) and the master-bedroom occupant walking through it to get to their sleeping quarters.
Said occupant might want to invite whoever’s sleeping in the loft onto the master bedroom’s private deck as compensation.
The main floor has something most contemporary houses lack as well: distinct spaces for living and dining. A divider wall separates the eat-in kitchen from the living room, though the dining table space straddles the opening in that wall.
So: Nicely outfitted, well maintained, conveniently located, attractively priced. And no condo fee! With all that going for it, I’d be surprised if this condo for sale stays on the market long.

OTHER STUFF: Village 2 has a swim and tennis club located within it. The lack of an HOA fee attached to this property may have something to do with the fact that this isn’t an amenity for the residents but a private club to which you must apply. If you’d like to apply, go ahead, but be aware that there’s often a waiting list for the limited number of memberships available.
