Check Out New Venue Moulin & Get Loads of Wedding-Day Inspiration at This Year’s Date With a Plate Event
To the relief of many displaced couples who were left venue-less when the former Peachtree & Ward-owned space, Peche, closed in December, we announced a few months back that Brûlée Catering had plans to revamp and reopen the venue under the new moniker Moulin at Sherman Mills.
We’re thrilled to hear that the renovations—including a new roof, fresh interior paint, spruced-up restrooms, painted and resealed floors, new event lighting and improved parking—are complete, and that the breathtaking raw space is back in action and better than ever. And if you’re not familiar with the building and its vintage stone exterior, giant windows, and exposed beam ceilings, now’s your chance to be a part of the unveiling.
To launch the spring wedding season at Moulin, the space will host the IMAJNZ Foundation’s biennial A Date With A Plate event on May 6 and 7.
Benefitting the Center for Personalized Diagnostics at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center, the two-day soiree is a celebration of table décor, featuring elaborate tablescapes designed by professional florists, interior decorators, event planners, and caterers. (It’s also an absolutely gigantic display of gorgeous wedding inspiration.)
This year’s roster of participants includes local vendors such as Evantine Design, TableArt, Robertson’s Flowers, Palladio and Lori Shinal Interiors, along with stores like Neiman Marcus and West Elm.
The first evening, Tuesday, May 6, will consist of a Patrons’ Party ($175) complete with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a walking dinner, live auction, and dessert. And, back by popular demand, a “sports bar” featuring a big-screen TV and a surprise sports personality will be available for the guys. The following day, stop into Moulin for “A Second Helping,” a casual luncheon ($50) that will focus heavily on the table displays and current wedding trends.
Enjoy light bites by Brulee Catering, raffles, an exclusive retail boutique, and guest speakers Lynn Rosen, author of Elements of the Table and Michelle J. Pollock, owner of South Jersey’s Primrose and Co.
Tickets for both events can be purchased here. We can’t think of a better way to check out the new space and get loads of inspiration for your Big Day. We hope to see you there!
