How Will You Use Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year (Radiant Orchid!) In Your Wedding?

Pantone's 2014 Color of the Year is: Radiant Orchid!

Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year is: Radiant Orchid!

So every time Pantone, the end-all-be-all entity on all things color, releases its Color of the Year, my initial reaction, brides, is to think of you! No, not of my own closet or apartment walls or anything like that—just of how I think this color will work in all the weddings in the year to come.

And my first thoughts on this one? Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year? Brides are going to frigging love Radiant Orchid.

To me, this is a shade that can apply to seriously anything on your wedding roster: your shoes; your bridesmaid dresses; flowers; cake colors; big, statement jewelry; your rehearsal dinner dress; your favors; your table cloths and tablescapes—the options are endless!

If you like purple, you can pair it with shades of purple and it’ll skew that way; if you like pink, you can pair it with shades of pink and it’ll take on those hues. It’s fun and feminine and bright—it’s a joyful color, for a joyful day.

But what do you think? Do you like it? Any brides out there—especially spring ones—who think they’ll be influenced by the prevalence of Radiant Orchid in the world?
