Bride-to-Be Blogger Jennifer: The Color Conundrum

I started this blog initially explaining how I didn’t want to get lost in the details. I wanted to keep a firm grasp of what our wedding day really meant and not freak out about ice sculptures and chair cover and bows. But, I have to say, I am finding it hard to make some of the really big decisions.

For example: Since we got engaged, I had a brown and pink theme in mind. My sister and I recently went to David’s Bridal to look at bridesmaids dresses and found that the new “truffle” was too dark. We also saw one dress in “cocoa” on the rack but that color was not listed in the last catalog, so I assumed it was old and put it out of my head and decided that brown and pink was a no-go. I was comfortable with that decision and moved onto “wine” and “peridot” — two completely different colors. But now, it turns out “cocoa” is a brand new color that will be available this fall. (!)

I feel like picking a color is a huge deal — probably the biggest decision I have to make — since that will dictate the colors included in the rest of the wedding’s décor and everything. Anthony and I are going back so I can get his take on colors too.

Another struggle I am having is that we are getting married in early spring. Should I be worried about having my girls wear a dark color in April? So many exciting little details!

How did you decide what colors to incorporate into your wedding? On another note — would this fall be too late to order dresses for an April 9th wedding? What do you think?
