Bride-to-Be Blogger Jennifer: The Wedding Planning Rut

OK, I know what you’re thinking—this sounds like a really horrible title for a blog considering how excited and elated and engrossed with planning I should be. For the record, I am excited and elated to be getting married to Anthony. Engrossed, not so much.

The clock is ticking away — 324 days to go as our Knot.com page reminds me — and we’ve done little to plan for our big day aside from pick the place and the date. Maybe we’re still in the honeymoon phase of our engagement — just taking it all in and enjoying it. Or maybe I am trying too hard not to become a detail-crazy bride. Either way, we need to get the ball rolling and I am not sure where to start.

We’ve talked over some small things that I will cover in later blogs with more finality, but really, once you add it all up, I am sure we are already way behind. Friends of mine tell me to enjoy this time, but maybe I am enjoying it a little too much and need to get back to the task at hand. If I don’t, I’ll have no one to blame but myself when I’m going crazy during the final countdown.

How did you decide where to start without getting overwhelmed? What helpful hints have you heard from other brides? What have you learned during your own wedding planning?
