The Best Thing That Happened This Week: F@$% Climate Change

We’re gonna get serious about it — just as soon as we get back from the park.

We here at Philly Mag are serious about fighting climate change. We devoted our cover story to the issue last November. We’ll be revisiting the topic in April. In our personal lives and here at the office, we’re finding new ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. We want to elect a president in November who will take global warming seriously, not a loony-tune who thinks you can’t watch Fox News when the wind dies down.

And yet.

And yet.

How lovely it was to walk to work this week — in January! — in just a jacket, with the warm sun beaming and a light breeze blowing. How nice not to have to keep the furnace running, burning up those fossil fuels. Sure, it rained a lot this week, too, but hey, it could have been snow. We know we and future generations are going to end up paying for the havoc mankind’s wreaked on this planet eventually, and probably in February. But damn. Hasn’t the weather been grand?
