Wawa has just announced that it will hire 5,000 new employees this spring.

All of the company’s 750 stores (across six states) are looking to “add new talent” through both customer service and management level positions.

“As we continue to expand and grow, we’re excited to fill these 5,000-plus positions with people who will quickly become part of the Wawa Way,” Dave Filano, Wawa’s manager of talent acquisition (what a title), said in a press release. “We’re specifically looking for individuals who enjoy serving others, who want to join our team for the busy summer season and as well those who might be interested in the start of a fulfilling career at Wawa.”

Those who are interested should apply online and consider attending one of the company’s upcoming open houses, which will be held at select Wawa locations. The events, titled “Wawa Career Wednesdays,” will start on March 29th and run on Wednesdays through April 19th.

More information, including exact dates and times, will be posted at chosen locations – and maybe one of those locations will be Wawa #700, in Ship Bottom, New Jersey – the subject of a recent song by Philly harpist Mary Lattimore. If you haven’t heard it yet, give it a listen. Lattimore’s 10-minute ode to the beach-side Wawa is probably the most beautiful thing you’ll hear all month.

Apparently Wawa thinks so too.
