Me, My Mom and Mo Rocca Talk Post-Election Thanksgiving Survival

Mo Rocca suggested that I ban my Trump-loving sister.

Last week, I wrote a story explaining why my wife and I had considered canceling our Thanksgiving plans because of the election results. All of the family members coming to our house voted for Donald Trump. Suffice to say, we did not. And given the lack of civility surrounding the election, we were a little concerned with how things would go.

A lot of folks had a lot to say about that story — many identified with us, explaining that they were going through the same ordeal, and others said it was the stupidest thing they had ever read and that we were a bunch of whiny liberals, bigots and “special snowflakes.” (You can read all of the enlightened comments here.)

Well, one person who took notice was CBS News correspondent Mo Rocca, who came to my mom’s house earlier this week to talk about post-election Thanksgiving anxiety. You can watch the video below. We all had a good laugh when he suggested that I ban my Trump-loving sister from the dinner table.

And Happy Thanksgiving, no matter who you voted for!
