Chris Christie: I Didn’t Fetch McDonald’s for Donald Trump

The second in a series about an incredibly minor, but hilarious, anecdote from a New Yorker story.

Chris Christie says he didn’t fetch McDonald’s for Donald Trump.

In yet another great moment in the 2016 presidential campaign, yesterday The New Yorker reported Christie had fetched Trump’s order at McDonald’s.

Later yesterday, a Christie spokesman categorically denied the allegation to Business Insider:

“We categorically deny this ridiculous, completely invented scenario, which the writer attributed to an unnamed source’s anonymous friend,” Murray told Business Insider in an email. “The fact the writer relegated this bit of sleaze between parentheses certainly indicates he knew it was trash that had to be separated from the rest of the story.”

Ryan Lizza, the New Yorker writer, did indeed separate it with a parentheses. But he also said it was sent on Snapchat from one Republican operative to another. This means, if the operative was being truthful, there is a chance the video exists somewhere.

We need to find this video. Let’s hope this is not the last post about Christie, Trump and McDonald’s.
