What can I say about my Woman Crush Everyday, my best friend, and my Valentine? Christina Ferraz is the love of my life. She is the smartest, sexiest person I know. Whether we’re exploring a new place on one of our aventuras, cooking and bailando in the kitchen, or having a night out on the town, with her, I can just be. I am blessed to wake up next to Christina every morning and there is no one else I’d rather spend my days with than her. I can’t wait to spend this, our 10th Valentine’s day, together!

Amelia Carter

Amelia Carter inspires me to be a better woman. A board member of Germantown United Community Development Corporation and Imperfect Gallery and a community organizer, Amelia works in Student Affairs at University of Pennsylvania where she recently led a student trip to India. This liberal arts graduate student, accomplished mosaicist, and traveler is otherworldly and all-around wonderful. Love you, bestie!

Malori Holloman

Wise beyond her years and an absolute delight, Malori Holloman has a passion for nature, living your individual truth, and life in general. A florist and an educator, she spends her time with her hands in the earth, giving unto others, doling out flowers and sage advice. Malori is happy, sweet, and cute as a button.

Carléne Pochett

Carléne Pochette is a charming , intelligent young woman with the fierce tenacity to pursue her dreams. An actress, model, and producer, she has performed in many film and theatre productions across the nation. Her strength and desire for change fuels her many projects, including production of a documentary about rebuilding the educational system of Haiti. A co-worker and friend, I am grateful to have met Carléne.

Rosanna Ovalles

Rosanna Ovalles is funny and magnificent. Her expressions are hilarious and her excitability is contagious. As an NYU Steinhardt School of Education and Culture student, she will graduate with the goal of teaching health, sex, and bilingual education to underprivileged youth. Rosanna is Dominican by blood, South Bronx by birth, and Philadelphian by heart. I’m so happy she’s in Philly, and even happier she is my friend and neighbor!

Angel Hogan

Poet, storyteller, and my personal guru – Angel Hogan. She’s a storytelling champ with First Person Arts, a teaching artist with ArtWell, and a contributing editor to Philadelphia Stories. She has numerous performances under her belt including the Black Women’s Arts Festival, Painted Bride Quarterly, Literary Death Match, and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. She is wise, smart, and I am honored to know her.
