Fishtown Food Distribution Center Robbed Overnight
Police say two men posing as cops robbed a Fishtown food distribution center early Wednesday morning.
It happened around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday at Kawa Trading Corp. along the 1700 block of Delaware Avenue.
Authorities say two men wearing police hats, and at least one of whom appeared to be wearing a badge around his neck, knocked on the door of the business and identified themselves as police. Once inside, police say, the two men pointed guns at the heads of the two owners and forced them to open the safe.
Police say the suspects stole almost $80,000 in cash, and then attempted to disable the surveillance system
The pair took off in an SUV. CBS Philly reports that investigators are not ruling out an “inside job.”
