Bigger, Badder Pro-Joe Paterno Billboard Erected [Updated]

Remember this billboard, erected in State College last fall?

Now there’s another in Thompsontown, sitting off Route 322, between Harrisburg and State College. It looks identical except for the giant JOE PATERNO 409 WINS billboard sitting beneath it. You’d think that if you had 11 months to plan a new billboard location you could clean up the sign’s confusing syntax. “You can’t cover up 61 years of success with honor” sounds completely nonsensical. Who would cover success up…with honor? We know what you’re trying to say, but come on guys. You all went to (the same) college! [Patriot-News]

Update: This post originally suggested that the billboard had been erected by Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship, the group the erected the original set of billboards. PS4RS says it’s not responsible for the new billboard.
