More Foot-Longs Coming to Woody’s

Local restaurateur Peter McAndrews is opening a Paesano's subshop in the Gayborhood mainstay.

From Foobooz:

“Michael Klein is reporting that Peter McAndrews is looking to expand his Paesano’s sandwich shop chain. Paesano’s has locations in Fishtown, the Itlaian Market and recently opened a location within Margare’s Memories night club. Next, McAndrews is taking the cohabiting concept to Woody’s Bar at 13th and Walnut streets.”

The addition is the third instance of a Gayborhood bar compiling a food menu for its vodka-cran patrons. In April, ICandy unveiled its finger-food-serving “The Pub” lounge, and word also has it that Tavern on Camac has recently revamped, rebranded and re-opened its Terra basement restaurant. Apparently, the alcohol-food combo — while far from revolutionary — is all the rage in Philly’s gay bar scene as of late.

With its renovations, Rosewood, and now a sandwich shop all set into motion, is Woody’s slowly transitioning into a super-gay Gallery at Market East? (And is that a good thing?) Read the rest of Foobooz’s piece here.
