Starting Tomorrow, You Can’t Smoke Within 25 Feet of a Starbucks*

As of Saturday, June 1st, this is no longer allowed. At least that’s according to Starbucks, which is imposing a ban in the U.S. and Canada on smoking real or electronic cigarettes within 25 feet of Starbucks locations.

This picture, by the way, was taken around 12:20 p.m. today on 18th and Market. I waited about 10 seconds outside the Starbucks for someone to begin smoking before someone appeared. Will this woman be allowed to smoke on Monday? Or will a team of baristas abandon their behind-the-counter duties to wrench the cigarette out of her mouth? *Tough to see how they’re going to enforce this one, especially on public sidewalks.
