Koch Brothers Could Soon Become Philly Media Players


Buried in the recent news that the arch-conservative mega-powerful Koch Brothers were considering buying the Chicago-based Tribune Co., were a couple of potential Philly implications. The Tribune Company, which owns the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times, also owns the Allentown Morning Call and PHL 17. Which, as Philly Weekly points out, is “perhaps best known for providing Philadelphia with Sunday baseball games, as well as re-runs of “Two and a Half Men” and “The Big Bang Theory.” And if the Kochs buy the company, Citizens’ United-produced documentaries 24 hours a day.
