Steve Martin Played Him Some Banjo in Philly Last Night

WXPN’s 13th annual Non-COMMvention music festival kicked off last night with a performance from Steve Martin and Edie Brickell (Paul Simon’s wife), who played songs from their new folk/Americana album “Love Has Come for You.” It’s easy to forget, but one of Martin’s original shticks was getting up on stage with a banjo, mugging, and occasionally making some music. Here’s audio of the performance, in which the tunes are interspersed with a few discursive semi-jokes.
