Christie: Obama “Kept Every Promise” on Hurricane Sandy

Today on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough gave Chris Christie a big fat piece of political bait, asking him why New Jersey’s storm recovery was taking so long. Here was a chance for him to criticize Barack Obama and regain some cred with conservatives who blamed him for praising Mr. POTUS during Sandy. But no.

“The president has kept every promise that he made,” Christie said, presumably referring to the president’s support for January’s relief bill and for his decision to expedite New Jersey’s effort to collect disaster funds. (Skip to 7:30 to see it. Or to 7:00 for an Alexander Hamilton joke.)

Christie’s statement will surprise those storm victims who interpret hugs as promises of direct cash assistance.
