Drexel Vending Machine Lends Out MacBooks

Now there’s a new reason to be jealous of the kids at Drexel University: While the vending machines in your office probably dispense Cokes and corn chips, the new vending machine in the university library lends out MacBooks, free of charge, to students. The machine holds up to 12 of the laptops, and students can use their ID cards to check out a computer for up to five hours at a time. ““Students didn’t want to carry their laptops to the libary late at night,” a university spokeswoman said. “We’ll evaluate their use and, depending on the results determine how many more we can install.” If the experiment is successful, the university might try to lend out iPads next.
