Rick Santorum’s Next Move: Defeating Chuck Hagel

Last month: publicly lobbying for the U.S. not to join a treaty that protects disabled people. This month: trying to kill Chuck Hagel’s nomination for Secretary of Defense. It’s unclear that Santorum, who hasn’t held elected office for six years, has any sway at all over politics in Washington. But it seems he’s going to live out his years acting like he does–especially since he’s (please spare us) “open to the possibility” of running again for President. Santorum, who’s planning on taking out online ads against his former upper chamber colleague, is basically opposing Hagel for not being a warmonger. [CNN]
