Watch: Tina Fey’s 30 Rock Almost Went Horribly Wrong

You know the Hollywood legends about how certain shows were brilliant until the network suits got ahold of it? You may want to reconsider them after viewing part of the original pilot for Tina Fey’s 30 Rock, starring Rachel Dratch as the character we’ve all come to know and love in the version played by her replacement, Jane Krakowski.  We generally think Upper Darby homegirl Fey can do no wrong, but this version is—as AV Club points out—a bit unsettling. Especially the toilet humor. You’re not better than that, Fey, but you’re better than that. Luckily, second chances were given, and instead of low-rated, forgotten disaster, Fey has spent the last few years presiding over a low-rated, beloved masterpiece. [AV Club]
