Comcast Now Third-Largest Advertiser in the Country

Finishing behind only Procter & Gamble and General Motors in ad spending, Comcast was the third largest advertiser in the country last quarter. That’s up a spot from last year’s year-end numbers, when Ad Age ranked the Philly-based media/telecom/cable conglomerate fourth. That rank stemmed in large part from the company’s 2011 deal to buy NBCUniversal. Though no amount of ad money could have saved “Cowboys and Aliens.” This quarter, however, a big boost came from spending on the company’s traditional cable and phone services. [Business Journal]
