Amtrak’s New Gay-Friendly Ads

Same-sex parents are the focus of the new campaign launched this week

It’s being called “Ride With Pride.” Amtrak‘s new ad campaign uses images of same-sex parents (both female and male couples) with their kids as a way to welcome LGBT travelers to the train company. Along with the ad comes special incentives to gay-friendly destinations and half-price discounts for kids between two and 15.

“Priceless family moments are now affordable,” read the ads, which are already popping up online.

“At Amtrak, diversity is not just a corporate buzzword, it’s a priority,” says Amtrak’s website. “We understand that valuing diversity is not only a good thing to do, but a business necessity beyond compliance that plays a vital role in customer service delivery and ultimately the success of our operations. Simply put, our business diversity philosophy means commitment to ensuring our company embraces a culture of respect and appreciation for differences and similarities of all people.”
