Ed Rendell Couldn’t Help Ex-Rep. Stetler From Corruption Conviction

A Dauphin County jury has found former Rep. Stephen Stetler guilty on six counts relating to his participation in a scheme that used employees paid with taxpayer money to work illegally on campaigns. Former Gov. Ed Rendell was among the numerous people who testified as character witnesses on Stetler’s behalf. Stetler is just the latest of the 25 legislators originally charged in the state attorney general’s legislative corruption probe to be convicted. In total, nine House Republicans and 13 House Democrats have been convicted or pleaded guilty. [Philly.com]
