Comcast, Time Warner and Other Cable Companies Team Up for National WiFi

As television slowly becomes obsolete (see Hulu, HBOGo, etc.) cable companies are banding together to create a national network of WiFi hotspots. Comcast, Time Warner, Bright House Networks, Cablevision and Cox Communications have teamed up to create a WiFi network that initially boasts of 50,000 hotspots. The idea is that subscribers of one company can use the hotspots of the others on their smartphones, tablets and laptops when they’re out of the area. [Inquirer]
