Members of the Greater Philadelphia Flag Football League (GPFFL) participated in the 25th Annual AIDS Walk yesterday. Wayne Knaub, GPFFL commissioner, says the league donated $2,000 to the AIDS Fund – more than any other individual group in Philly.

“We’re making our mark on the field and off,” adds Knaub, who’s featured in “The New Who’s Who” in the latest issue of G Philly.

The league’s Outreach and Fundraising Chair Carmen Gervasio says that the GPFFL has been putting their best foot forward for charities all season. The players are raising money for MANNA during the annual “Pie in the Sky” benefit, as well as the upcoming “Toy” event for the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund in December.

“We are not only an all-inclusive flag football league,” says Gervasio, “but are an important part of our community. When our playing season is over, GPFFL is still hard at work as a force in the community. As our league continues to evolve in our community, I am so proud and honored to be a part of its positive impact on it.”
