Catholic High Schools Close For Strike

All 17 Catholic high schools in the Philadelphia area will close as of Thursday as the Archdiocese negotiate new teacher contracts with the teachers union. The strike affects almost 16,000 students in the five county area. While Robert August would probably be pretty stoked to keep surfing during what looks like an endless summer, the Scoop guesses that kids from the city’s Catholic schools would probably rather have their football and soccer seasons and not be in school until July next year.
