Russell Simmons Supports Marriage Equality
The hip-hop mogul shows his love for gay rights in a new video
He’s produced dozens of rap and hip-hop acts over the years on his Def Jam label, and created Phat Farm, a fashion empire. Now, Russell Simmons – brother of Run of Run DMC – is lending his name to marriage equality. He joins many other celebrities, including Joan Rivers, Whoopi Goldberg, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Kevin Bacon, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Kenneth Cole and Barbara Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush, in support of same-sex marriage rights in the Big Apple.
We’d like to see Philly’s hometown heroes create a similar campaign for the Commonwealth.
